85-Year-Old Victim Identified in Nevada City Accident, September 10, 2016

Gerald Bockting may have been having medical problems when he drove his Ford Explorer off the roadway on Highway 20/49 just south of Nevada City. Eighty-five-year-old Bockting died Friday from his injuries that occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. After leaving the roadway, he careened down a steep embankment, through a metal fence, and across a field, where he hit a tree and stopped in the parking lot of a nursery. The vehicles fuel line had ruptured and it burst into flames. No word yet as to why he veered off the roadway to begin with.
