25-year-old, Leona Moreno, Hits Utility Pole and Dies in Pittsburg, CA

Contra Costa County coroner’s office identified the body of 25-year-old, Leona Moreno, the woman who struck a utility pole and died during a police pursuit in Pittsburg, California. Reports state that officers working a stolen vehicle assignment witnessed Moreno in her Lexus speeding down East 14th Street. They chased after her. She sped onto Pittsburg-Antioch Highway, where she lost control of her car and struck a pole right after Loveridge Road. She was thrown from the car on impact and pronounced dead on the scene. Her two passengers, ages 21 and 26, who were transported to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
