Motorcycle Crash Kills One in Major Fall From Portola Highway, July 30, 2016

Late Saturday morning a crash was reported on westbound state highway 84 in unincorporated San Mateo County close to Portola Valley. A motorcyclist lost control of his bike three miles west of state Highway 35. He was speeding when his 2009 Kawasaki slipped through a left turn, throwing him from the bike and sending it down a 20-foot embankment into a large tree. The rider slid down after the bike, hit another tree and died on the scene. Alcohol and drugs appear to be a factor. Investigators are still underway.
