Counties in California with the largest percentage of uninsured motorists in are Los Angeles having 23.3% uninsured drivers and San Francisco as having 21.7%.

In California, the law imposes a statute of limitations which sets a maximum amount of time that legal proceedings can occur after the date the incident.
